ILLIG to launch new thermoformed liquid-tight container at Chinaplas 2017

PKBR Staff Writer Published 27 February 2017

Germany-based ILLIG is planning to introduce its new thermoformed liquid-tight containers with lid at the Chinaplas 2017 event scheduled to be held in Guangzhou, China next month.

The newly developed containers, suitable for take away purposes, were produced on an automatic pressure forming machine, type IC-RDK 80, with a 12-up container mould out of transparent polypropylene (PP).

Designed to meet customer requirements from the Asian market, the container has option to be tightly closed by a lid to protect the hot soups and meals packed inside.

In order to validate the product’s tightness and stackability or top load, the ILLIG has conducted several application tests on the container.

ILLIG also developed forming and punching technology using the IC-RDK series to provide improved part quality and reproducibility of packs.

The machine is designed to allow the formation of heated materials by means of pre-stretcher and compressed air. The process facilitates punching out of parts from the heated material in the same cycle.

At the Chinaplas event, scheduled to be held from 16-19 May, ILLIG is also planning to showcase its fully automated production line for drinking cups, including the IC-RDM 70K automatic roll-fed machine.

The company will also display the decorative and economic potentials of in-mould labeling in thermoforming (IML-T) at Chinaplas.

Additional ILLIG’s products on display include fill and seal lines (FFS lines), which seek to offer cleanliness in the production process.
